Molly Blooms!

Hi Ladies and Gents! I have been sooo desperate to play with my Molly Blooms stamps so have used this weeks challenge at Creative Inspirations to do just that! This week for our theme it's Brown Sage and Cream, I've used a few different shades of all three!

I'm not sure how clear it is on here, but I've decoupaged the head of the boy x1, his hands x2 and the dog x1. The image is coloured with Brushstrokes pens as watercolour, copics (skin) and distress inks (grass and distressing).
Here's a closer view.....
If you look closely at the heart on the wheelbarrow you might see that I've added crackle glaze here, and I've also added 3D gloss to his wellies and the buckle on his hat, the pooch's nose and the ticket.
Well, that's all for today! Thanks for having a browse and any comments, I love reading them.

Recipe
Stamps: Molly Bloom; Paper Make-up sentiments and tags
Papers: Papermania
Colouring: distress inks; copics; whispers brushstrokes
Embellishments: Buttons and thread (stash); Anitas 3D gloss; Crackle Accents

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations Spooky Challenge....

Hi everyone, I must apologise for this being posted late, my Godmother is very unwell so I've been spending most of my free time with her at the hospital. On a more cheery note, this week at Creative Inspirations we were given a choice of 2 images from Sassy Studio Designs. I chose to use the Sassy Ghost image and decided to create a 3D box card (this is a bit of an experiment for me I'm afraid so this is my first attempt at this type of card!) Here's the result.............
This looks better in real life, they are very difficult to photograph I promise! Here's some close up of the image...

She is COVERED in stickes but again you can't see this (really must improve my photography skills!) I also added some crackle glaze on her eyes.

Below is a picture from above to explain why this is a 3D box card as like I said, it doesn't show up well in the photos!

Recipe:
Image: Sassy Ghost (Sassy Studio Designs)
Dies: Nestabilities circle (for the moon); Sizzix halloween tree; star punch
Stickles: stardust
Colouring: copics and distress inks; white sakura gel pen for the highlights

Thanks for browsing and any comments you might leave, I love reading them. Hugs. Katy. xxx

Creative Inspirations Sketch Challenge...

Hi everyone, Creative Inspirations have a new challenge on this week, it's a sketch.......................
I immediately wanted to go back to my Magnolias for this one (they are my comfort zone don't you know!) and thought that the open gate has a lovely semi-circular patch of flowers on the left so this could be part of my main image. I also wanted to use my new stamp Chinese Tilda so this was the following result!

I edged the backing papers with walnut stain distress ink and diamond stickles. I used stardust stickles under Tildas feet, on her umbrella and on the flowers, and Sakura clear star gelly roll pen on her dress, on the fence and on the umbrella... Here's a closer view....

I noticed after using my spellbinders to cut the circle out that I'd chopped half the flowers away, so I stamped these again, coloured and cut them out and used them as a decoupage, they were quite fiddly though! The flowers in each corner of the card are punched using a Martha Stewart 3 hydrangeas die onto plain cardstock which I coloured using my whispers brushstrokes and added stickles (stardust) and a gem to. I hope you like her, I'm certainly more pleased with this than last weeks effort!

Recipe
Stamps - Magnolia: open gate and chinese Tilda
Colouring - Copics, distress inks and whispers brushstrokes
Glitz - stickles: stardust and diamond, Sakura Gelly Roll: white and clear star

Creative Inspiration Challenge #82 - Birthday Theme

Hi guys and gals! This is my first DT card for Creative Inspirations, I hope you like it!

The stamp is another Kraftin' Kimmie creation "Giselle" - isn't she fabulous?!
I wanted to do something with circles, so just used smaller ones to the right and added my cute teapot charm (from Quixotic Paperie) to the smallest one. Have to say there were a few hairy moments when cutting her out, as you can see her arms and legs are tiny and I was so worried about chopping them off!

Here's a closer view....

Recipe
Stamps - "Giselle" from Kraftin Kimmie; "Happy Birthday " Kanban
Papers - GCD studios "Ella Blue"
Colour - copics and distress inks
Stickles
Sakura stardust pen
Rub-ons
Pearls - viva decor pearl pens (ice white [on circle] and salmon [in optic dot holes])
Border punch - Martha Stewart Optic Dot
Spellbinders - circle dies
Heart Gems - quixotic Paperie
Ribbon - stash

Thanks for looking and see you next week with another DT challenge card!
Happy Crafting!

Some good news!

Hi everyone! I wanted to post this on Wednesday morning but I was away in Brighton and just got back today (haven't got a posh phone for blogging on the move either) - so apologies for this being sooo late! Firstly, thank you to everyone who has left me messages of support, and to those of you who have joined me as followers, it's a huge compliment to have such tallented followers!
Now onto my big news... You may have already found this out by looking at the creative expressions website, but in case you haven't, I was lucky enough to be picked as one of their new design team members! I still can't really believe it as I had a snoop at the entries (I'm nosey by nature!) and they were all amazing, I just hope my future posts don't disappoint! Subsequently I am busy at the moment trying to get sorted for the challenges so that's why I have gone quiet, I'm still crafting - Promise!
Happy crafting everyone and THANK YOU!
Katy
