Blue, Green and.... I choose turquoise!

Hi everyone! I hope you're getting a bit of sun now, we've started to, and it's making me feel so much happier! What a difference some rays make! It always gives me a creative boost too, so I feel a bit happier with this weeks card than some of my more recent cards.

This week the theme at CIWC is Green, Blue, and one other colour of your choice. I had my mermaid Tilda in mind and was struggling between purple and turquoise but then remembered I had some fab turquoise flowers so had to add turquoise as my colour of choice! Here's the result, I hope you like it!

The papers are a mix of My Minds Eye, DCWV and Prima. There's also some coredinations gemstone on the scalloped circle!
There are clear stones and pearls dotted here and there too, and blue tulle under the flowers.

And here's the fab flowers! I still need some work on my arrangements of flowers. The tulips and the open flowers are from Magnolia, the rose buds and cherry blossoms are WOC and those fabby daisies are Kort and Godt from Joanna Sheen's website (lush!). I spritzed them all with cosmic shimmer pearls watered into a glimmer mist, and then added some stardust stickles for extra bling!

The sentiment is Magnolia, and it is heat embossed with aura sea breeze embossing powder.

As always, Tilda is coloured with DIs. Her tail is painted over with cosmic shimmer pearls into a paste, and then stardust stickles. The bubbles are raised with 3D gloss

I think that's everything! I'll pop back later with any challenges she fits into! But until then, Bye for now! And as always if you have time to say hi and leave a comment, I am always grateful, and will make sure I pop over to your blog and say hi!

Hugs and crafting merriment!

Sorry for the delay!

Hie everyone! Sorry for the delay in posting this, have had a hectic week! I have some more news... Caz from the Paperlane invited me to be a member of their design team too, and after about a second to think of course I said YES! So will be beginning to do some bits and pieces for The Paperlane too! Yey!

This week the theme at CIWC is cards for men, I've had this little Edwin for a while now and thought I'd give him a whirl, here's the result!

The DP's are Maja design (apart from the texted print which is Magnolia distressed with antique linen DI)

As always Edwin is coloured with DIs. I've used water colour paper for a change, and have to admit the colouring does turn out better on water colour paper. The swirls and corner stamps are from Stempelgledes grunge collection

The stars were donated from a friends redundant craft cupboard and were gold. I've painted them with picket fence crackle paint and left some gold peeking through!

Hope you like him, I might add a sentiment at a later date!

The challenges I have entered with this card are:
Craft Us Crazy: Masculine/Fathers day
Fab n Funky: Magnificent men
Magnolia Stamp Lovers: Anything goes

As always I will visit all bloggers who leave a comment, so if you have time as your browsing say hi and i'll get back to you!

Have a fab week, and see you soon! Happy Crafting!

Is this too bright?! And sorry for the poor photo quality!

Hi everyone! How are you all? Hope you are all feeling a bit rested if you've had a bank holiday weekend? I managed to get us lost on Monday, but you know, it all added to the fun and by the end of it we were in stitches!

This week the theme at CIWC is no people, cute animals only....

Here's mine for this week: Sorry for the poor pictures, I'm using my new phone and haven't quite got the hang of it! It insisted on using the flash despite me turning it off!

The image is a digi from Tickled Pink Stamps, he was on as a freebie before Xmas and I couldn't resist!
The papers are from The Paperlane, and are backed in black card . I love the colours.

I'm really not sure about the colouring. Because it was such a lot of brown I used my brown copic pen and the blending copic, but think it might be a bit dark... Let me know what you think. The rest is all distress inks.

See what I mean about the flash?! Seriously! The ribbon is East of India, and the lace is from Hobbycraft.

Around the lacy nestie circle I've added a gem every other two, and a green pearl in between.

I still love this die from Magnolia! The sentiment is from Whimsy stamps, and I thought with Wilfred's waving hand it was a good match! The twine and the Viva Decor Pearl Pen is from The Paperlane.

As always, the flowers are Wild orchid crafts.

Well that's all for now! Wishing you all a fabby week, and as always I'll pop over and see you if you leave me a comment, it's nice to see new blogs!

Take care and Happy crafting!

Arghhhhhh, internet problems!

Hi everyone, I'm sorry this is a late posting but I am having problems with my internet connection and am having to do this from Peter's mum and dad's house! I'll just put a few pics of this weeks Christmas in May challenge card up, and then I'm off to catch up on my blog hopping and commenting!

The papers are all by Magnolia

The doily is a cheery lynne die from Joanna Sheen's website - love this new buy!
The vintage ribbon and pearl pin are both from The Paperlane.

The stickles on her wings are stardust, and there is silver stickles under her feet.
As always she's been coloured with DIs

I know this was super quick, but I'm off now to have a scout about at everyones blogs! Take care, and to those of you who have the time to leave me a comment I'll visit you soon!

Hugs and happy crafting!

It's been a while!

Hi everyone, so so sorry it's been a while since I last caught up with you, and my commenting has also been a bit haphazard. I hope to catch up with that this week!

This weeks card for CIWC is Lace and Pearls... SO here's my effort!

Papaers: Prima botanical
Punch: MS border lace
Pearls: brads, half pearls and viva decor pearl pen
Lace: stash

The lace around the edge of this image was hand sewn to create a ruffle effect, I'm quite pleased with the result although it did take AAAAAAAAAAAAAages!

Image: Magnolia Tilda with birthday cake, coloured with DIs.
Splodged sections around image are with Stempelglede's grunge collection stamp.

I hope everyone is ok and doing well, I've lost 2 followers so I hope I'm not offending anyone!
I'll visit everyone who leaves a comment, and will try to catch up with everyone else when I get chance!

Hugs and happy crafting!

Sentiment - whimsy stamps

Thank you so much for browsing, and to those who leave a comment I'll see you on your blogs later!

1st go at a tent card

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and coping with the blustery winds if you're in England at the moment! This week at Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge we're challenging you to use die cuts and punches. I have wanted to try out a tent card for a while so opted for this this week. The outcome isn't exactly how I envisaged it so if anyone has any hints or tips on how to do these better than this please let me know!

Stamps: Magnolia Sitting Tilda with tulips
Magnolia Butterfly Background

Punches: Martha Stewart 3 Hydrangea (the flowers on the swing)
Butterfly

Papers: Magnolia green vintage quilt
Bazzil - ice white shimmer, vanilla

There's stardust stickles on the sun in the background.
The swing is made from hand cut bazil cardstock inked with walnut stain, then threaded with cord and some small wooden beads at the bottom. This is suspended on jump rings through the spellbinder scalloped circle.

The small hydrangea from the 3 hydrangea punch was used, and moulded by rolling the petals with an embossing tool until they curled. A small gem was added to the centre of each. The leaves are single petals cut from the hydrangea punch. (all a bit fiddly this!)

The window was cut with circular nestie, then a scolloped cicle placed over.

All of the images are coloured with DIs.

This week I have entered this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp: Spring/Easter
The Shabby Tea room: Spring Colours
Craft Us Crazy: Happy Easter/Spring
Papertake Weekly: Anything goes

I look forward to any hints you might have, still not sure if I've done this correctly!
Have a fabby week.

Nearly there!

Hi everyone, and welcome to my new followers, only another 4 to go before I offer some blog candy! So if you can, spread the word! Lol!
Peter's doing much better this week , he's eating normally now which is good as before he was only managing half a bowl of soup in total for a full day. :(

This week I got the chance to play with one of my new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps - I adore these, they're inspired by Grease I think. The one I've used today is Called "Danny". The minute I saw hime I knew I had to have him, my dad has had bikes for years, and recently as he's getting older he swapped his VFR racing bike for a classic - A Triumph Bonneville. I think the bike Danny has here looks just like it so this card will be going to my dad!

The papers are BG - Curio

As always, coloured with distress inks.
Danny's shades have 3d gloss on them, and there are crackle accents on his shoes.

The sentiment comes as part of the stamp set, there's another included "you ain't nothib' but a hound dog", so I always think these sets are superb value.

The sentiment sits in a spellbinders fancy tag, I stamped it, and then without reinking stamped again above and below to get the above effect.

The bike is coloured to match my dads! He has metallic cream so I've added some stickles stradust for a bit of shimmer. I also added silver stickles to the chrome areas, but these don't show up on the photo.

I hope you like him! I'm not sure if it's still on, but Bunnyzoes crafts was offering 25% off all Kraftin' Kimmie stamps (gutted, I bought him before the offer but whatcha gonna do?!) so if you like him I'd urge you to have a browse at the rest of the collection and see if the offer's still on to grab a bargain!

Take care everyone, thank you so much for bwosing. Have a fab week, and as always...
Happy Crafting!

Anything but a square... and how guilty do I feel?

Hi Peeps!
This week at CI wednesday challenge we are to make anything but a square card. I've seen some fab templates out there, tea pots, aprons, butterflies etc. but with everything that's happened this week I plumped for the simplest choice and made a scalloped circle easel card...

We are sponsored this week by Sassy Studios and were given their digi images to use - this little cutie is Victorian and she just reminds me of Cinderella or similar fairytale princesses. I think I'll use her again as my friend loves Pride and Prejudice and I think she would make a lovely Elizabeth Bennet!

The brilliant thing about digis is that you can resize them - I don't think this card would have been big enough for my full size Maggies, although I did sneak a Magnolia sentiment in! Lol! The card was made with my scalloped nesties - the largest size I had.

I LOVE these flowers! The one in the centre is a new Magnolia purchase (shhhh) from The Craftz Boutique Magnolia flowers are more expensive than WOC but I just fell in love with these. The stamens are wire too so you can manipulate them into shape where you want them. The dahlias and rose buds are from WOC (love these too!)

The top and bottom of the card are laid out exactly the same. White cardstock, then Magnolias "Something Blue" (wedding collection) and "love letter" (so special collection). All edges are distressed with walnut stain DIs and stickle stardust.

A quick pic of closed card

The image is coloured with distress inks (DIs) as always and I've used stardust stickles on the pleats of her dress.

I know last week I said I didn't have any news for you, well that wasn't strictly true. Peter (my other half) had been moping around the house for over a week with a sore throat. We'd been the doc's (I needed to go as he couldn't talk to explain why we were there!) and he'd been told he had excess fluid and to take antibiotics for a week and return the week after that. So that was last week.
He was grumpy and was making a mess in the house which I was having to clear up when I got in from work, as well as all the other bits n peices (making dinner, hoovering, washing, ironing, lunch box etc) and to be honest when I went to work on Monday I had a bit of a whinge about him being a typical bloke and complaining about a sore throat - come 2am Tuesday morning I was eating my words! He woke me up as he could barely breath and he was unable to drink even the smallest amount of liquid. I dashed him to A&E to be reprimanded for going there with a sore throat initially but then once the doc had looked at him he told us Peter would need his throat syringing as he had Quinsy... So a couple of syringes full of manky smelly puss were taken from inside his throat and he was kept in overnight while they gave him IV antibiotics and ordered him to eat and drink as much as he physically could. I have to say I felt terrible for moaning about him, and have been on a guilt trip all week! Phew, it's cathartic to get the guilt off of my chest! Lol! He's still not feeling too great and he has practically a pharmacy of meds but at least we know what the problem was.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Magical Mondays: Shaped cards
Crafts and Me: Anything goes
The Crazy Challenge: No square cards

Thank you so so much for looking and any comments you might leave me, and I'll pop by your blog to say hi! Hugs and wishing you all a fantastic week. Katy. xxx
