Feeling rested and very spoiled!

Hi everyone, apologies again for missing last week, but I am feeling much better now. I had a really lovely time in London, we went to see Blood Brothers and Ghost Stories while we were there which were both excellent, so that was the highlight, although the hotel had a pool, sauna and steam room so I had to make daily use of that too! All in all I've been utterly spoiled by my lovely Peter - I even managed to get the coat I'd been hankering after for Christmas in the sale 70% off!!!!! Now that can't be bad! I have to say though that no matter how lovely it was for a visit I was ready to come back home after a week... I guess the trip has just confirmed I'm a quiet country girl at heart!

Well despite being rested and recharged, I'm afraid my mojo still isn't up to much in the old card making stakes... The CI challenge this week is buttons and bows, and we got to use our sponsors images for this one. Here's what I came up with...

I got my sewing machine out for this one as I missed the patchwork theme the week previous so thought I'd add a sniff of patchwork in with this too for good measure!

And here's a close up of the image. I've glitteres the ground, the frog and the raindrops and I've used gloss on the frog. Hope you like. I'm looking forward to the next challenge so hopefully get my mojo back for that one!

Have a fabby week everyone. Happy crafting! Hugs. Katy, xxx

Hi everyone!

Hello to all, I'm afraid I'm still not feeling up to much and am going to have to give this weeks card a miss for CI. I'm hoping this week away will perk me up a bit and respark my creative juices! Many thanks to everyone who has commented on my blog recently, and apologies if I've not made it over to your blogs this last week, I'll try to catch up when I get back. Love and hugs to you all, have a fab week and hopefully you will see me back in a weeks time. Love and hugs.
Happy Crafting everyone.

It's not finished yet!

Hi everyone, how are you all? I had some lovely comments last week so thank you to everyone, as always they mean a great deal to me. I've not felt too well this week, nothing in particular just generally yucky. As a consequence the card I've made for CI this week is not finished how I would like. I'll come back to it with some embellishments when I feel more up to it, but this is what I've got so far.

Because it's still a working progress I'll not do a recipe as normal, but if there's anything you want to know I'll get back to you if you ask in the comments bit. Off for an early night now!
Take care, hugs and happy crafting!

Challenge card... 4 papers, 3 flowers, 2 ribbons and a button...

Hi everyone, how is the new year treating you so far? I'm just keeping everything crossed that we don't get any more snow, we're booked for a week in London and have booked to see Blood Brothers (which I LOVE!) and Ghost Story for while we're there, I'd hate to miss out because of another snow storm! So keep your fingers crossed for us, we go Sunday 17th so hopefully we'll be ok!

This week at Creative Inspirations there's a recipe challenge to follow: 4 papers, 3 flowers, 2 ribbons and a button, so here's what I came up with...

Caroline from CI sent me a couple of these Tildas for me to colour in, and now I definately think I'll buy her, she's fab to colour.

Tilda's coloured with distress inks, and the corners are stamped with the grunge corner and splatter stamp form the grunge collection by Stempelglede  - a Christmas purchase! (I got my set from BunnyZoes crafts but Quixotic paperie get them too)

The sentiment is from a mini sentiment set by Whimsy stamps (this one is from Quixotic paperie). I tried to make this look a bit like a rosette by adding ribbon and a button to it.

Everything is edged in walnut stain. The papers are from the DCWV "All about Girls" paper stack.

Thank you so so much for looking, and thank you to everyone who has left me comments over the last year, they have kept me motivated. I'm sorry I have not left regular messages with you all, I will endeavour to improve this year!

Happy 2011 everyone!

Hi there!
Did you all have a lovely Christmas? I wonder how many people other than us watched Avatar a few times over Christmas! We saw it in 3D at the cinema but every time you watch it you find something new that you missed the last time, definately one of my favourite films.
Well, Happy 2011 everyone! I wish you all a fantastic year ahead filled with plenty of love, good health and happiness. I'm hoping 2011 is better than 2010, it seemed to be a year of disappointment! Lol!

Just before 2010 ended, one of my colleagues and friend from university left work, so I thought I'd share the leaving card I made for her with you all today.
Her favourite colours are pink and purple, so it's a very girly colour scheme!

I've used "farewell Tilda" (what could be more appropriate?!) and stood her in front of the "open gate" which I've decoupaged on the circle like I did on one of the earlier challenge cards for a CI challenge. I found a doily which I think I've picked up somewhere while eating out (naughty I know!) and thought this might be nice behind.

Tilda and the background are coloured with distress inks. There's crackle glaze on her boots and stickles on her pocket, hankie and her tear, as well as beneath her feet. I've layered the decoupaged flowers in front of her for added depth and put small pearls in some of the flower centres.

The tassle pulls out a blank square piece of card so everyone at work could sign it for the extra personal touch.

The tag is a doohickey die with pearl string threaded through. The sentiment is a stamp from a free pack on a docrafts magazine, and I added a small rose from wild orchid crafts. The larger sentiment is printed from my computer and cut out with a nellie snellen die.

The flower embellishments and leaves are from wild orchid crafts.

I really hope she liked this one, I wasn't sure if it was a bit fussy!
Take care everyone and have a fab week, see you Wednesday for a CI challenge!
