Nearly there!

Hi everyone, and welcome to my new followers, only another 4 to go before I offer some blog candy! So if you can, spread the word! Lol!
Peter's doing much better this week , he's eating normally now which is good as before he was only managing half a bowl of soup in total for a full day. :(

This week I got the chance to play with one of my new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps - I adore these, they're inspired by Grease I think. The one I've used today is Called "Danny". The minute I saw hime I knew I had to have him, my dad has had bikes for years, and recently as he's getting older he swapped his VFR racing bike for a classic - A Triumph Bonneville. I think the bike Danny has here looks just like it so this card will be going to my dad!

The papers are BG - Curio

As always, coloured with distress inks.
Danny's shades have 3d gloss on them, and there are crackle accents on his shoes.

The sentiment comes as part of the stamp set, there's another included "you ain't nothib' but a hound dog", so I always think these sets are superb value.

The sentiment sits in a spellbinders fancy tag, I stamped it, and then without reinking stamped again above and below to get the above effect.

The bike is coloured to match my dads! He has metallic cream so I've added some stickles stradust for a bit of shimmer. I also added silver stickles to the chrome areas, but these don't show up on the photo.

I hope you like him! I'm not sure if it's still on, but Bunnyzoes crafts was offering 25% off all Kraftin' Kimmie stamps (gutted, I bought him before the offer but whatcha gonna do?!) so if you like him I'd urge you to have a browse at the rest of the collection and see if the offer's still on to grab a bargain!

Take care everyone, thank you so much for bwosing. Have a fab week, and as always...
Happy Crafting!

Anything but a square... and how guilty do I feel?

Hi Peeps!
This week at CI wednesday challenge we are to make anything but a square card. I've seen some fab templates out there, tea pots, aprons, butterflies etc. but with everything that's happened this week I plumped for the simplest choice and made a scalloped circle easel card...

We are sponsored this week by Sassy Studios and were given their digi images to use - this little cutie is Victorian and she just reminds me of Cinderella or similar fairytale princesses. I think I'll use her again as my friend loves Pride and Prejudice and I think she would make a lovely Elizabeth Bennet!

The brilliant thing about digis is that you can resize them - I don't think this card would have been big enough for my full size Maggies, although I did sneak a Magnolia sentiment in! Lol! The card was made with my scalloped nesties - the largest size I had.

I LOVE these flowers! The one in the centre is a new Magnolia purchase (shhhh) from The Craftz Boutique Magnolia flowers are more expensive than WOC but I just fell in love with these. The stamens are wire too so you can manipulate them into shape where you want them. The dahlias and rose buds are from WOC (love these too!)

The top and bottom of the card are laid out exactly the same. White cardstock, then Magnolias "Something Blue" (wedding collection) and "love letter" (so special collection). All edges are distressed with walnut stain DIs and stickle stardust.

A quick pic of closed card

The image is coloured with distress inks (DIs) as always and I've used stardust stickles on the pleats of her dress.

I know last week I said I didn't have any news for you, well that wasn't strictly true. Peter (my other half) had been moping around the house for over a week with a sore throat. We'd been the doc's (I needed to go as he couldn't talk to explain why we were there!) and he'd been told he had excess fluid and to take antibiotics for a week and return the week after that. So that was last week.
He was grumpy and was making a mess in the house which I was having to clear up when I got in from work, as well as all the other bits n peices (making dinner, hoovering, washing, ironing, lunch box etc) and to be honest when I went to work on Monday I had a bit of a whinge about him being a typical bloke and complaining about a sore throat - come 2am Tuesday morning I was eating my words! He woke me up as he could barely breath and he was unable to drink even the smallest amount of liquid. I dashed him to A&E to be reprimanded for going there with a sore throat initially but then once the doc had looked at him he told us Peter would need his throat syringing as he had Quinsy... So a couple of syringes full of manky smelly puss were taken from inside his throat and he was kept in overnight while they gave him IV antibiotics and ordered him to eat and drink as much as he physically could. I have to say I felt terrible for moaning about him, and have been on a guilt trip all week! Phew, it's cathartic to get the guilt off of my chest! Lol! He's still not feeling too great and he has practically a pharmacy of meds but at least we know what the problem was.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Magical Mondays: Shaped cards
Crafts and Me: Anything goes
The Crazy Challenge: No square cards

Thank you so so much for looking and any comments you might leave me, and I'll pop by your blog to say hi! Hugs and wishing you all a fantastic week. Katy. xxx

Thank you to Cebelica!

Hi ladies, Just a quick post. Firstly, to thank Cebelica for awarding me this wonderful blog award:

Thank you so much hun, it is VERY much appreciated!

As with other awards, this award has some rules. And these are:
1.) I need to thank the person who gave me this award: Thank you Cebelica! And please to everyone else, check out her wonderful blog!
2.) I need to write 7 things about myself.
  1. I spend half of my entire card making time just colouring the images, it usually takes me at least an hour to feel happy with the colouring!
  2. I would love my own horse - ambitious I know but I can dream can't i?!
  3. I have a terrible sense of direction - and often get lost, even with sat nav.
  4. I am left handed.
  5. My favourite colour combination on cards is blue and brown
  6. I LOVE crisps- I could eat an entire multipack in one go if Peter doesn't hide them!
  7. I have named my sat nav guy "Shane" - he's Irish! Love it!
3.) I have to pass this award to 15 bloggers and let them now they received this award from me.
I would like to pass this on to:
I would normally write a little about each one but 15 is a lot to write about so I'll leave you to browse these fab blogs at your leisure! Hugs. Katy. xxx

How does your garden grow!

Hi peeps! Before I show you my card for this week can I say a huge thank you to everyone who joined in with last weeks challenge and took part in the blog candy drive!

And the winner selected at random is....
                                                                 Sylvia-Anne

Congratulations sweetie, please post your email address or address in a message below (I will not publish this to my page) so that I can organise posting your prize to you.

I would also like to say "Hi" and thank you to my new followers - I now have 41 - huzzah! I will add another candy up when I get to 50! (followers that is - not the age, you'd be waiting a couple of years yet!)

Did anyone get chance to think if they and/or their other half's name their cars? I'm really keen to know if this is just me... ;-)

Aaaaanywaaay, this weeks challenge at CI Wednesday challenge Blog is all about "in the garden", and after feeling I had nothing to go with the theme I was a bit naughty (Peter does not know I've bought more card stuff) and purchased some digis from Make it Crafty  - the daffodil dell, and ivy tree swing (LOVE these!). I'm not usually a huge fan of digis coz it's a hassle to link my laptop up and rummage for paper that will go through, but these are definately worth the effort - I hope you agree! I played with them a bit until I could get them to sit nicely together.

Everything as always is coloured with DI's. Tilda has been mounted on 3D foam pads, I really love this stamp at the moment!

The first pic doesn't show the sparkle, but I added clear star gel pen on Tildas dress and the flowers and swing for a bit of bling! Hope you can see...

The flowers and leaves are all wild orchid crafts - I love these long leaves, they're a new purchase too (shhhhh ;-))

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Bunny Zoes Crafts: flowers everywhere!
MDUC: Flower Power
Bling it on: Anything goes
Papertake Weekly: Anything goes + something old (the paper is from an old K and co pack)
Dream Valley: Anything goes
Everybody Art: Spring
TiddlyInks: colourful
Well, that's all for now, if you get chance to let me know the name of your car, or even if you think I'm a nut, I'd love to know! Lol! Have a fab week everyone. Hugs. Katy. xxx
